    • If you still love the boxer rumble, this is it

It’s an iconic sports car if you are ok to see in real time the fuel gauge needle goes down every time you accelerate (no exaggeration here, the updated bigger injectors and revised air intake do make difference even in dated EJ257). Engine is torquey in all gears above 2000 rpm. The car is a beast, although kinda feels faster than it really is. Absolutely the best and most sophisticated AWD in class, period. To really feel the turbo kick in the pants, gotta wind it all the way past 4500 rpm, just to realize that it’s a bit too much (and too late) when you really need it. Steering is so informative that you can read the pavement. Brembo brakes are beefy and sweet looking but the rotors wear out very fast, even without crazy driving. Shifter is crisp but needs some get used to but eventually is very satisfying. Clutch effort is normal. Almost no TMIC heatsoak. The car feels lazy when driven normally. The screaming wing attracts mostly unnecessary attention. Worth buying if you’re a car collector or into Subie heavy modding.

Purchased this car band new and have nothing but smiles driving it. I have considered trading it in after 6 years, but every time I think about I ask myself why I would. Its been reliable despite changing the compressor at around 95k miles since it broke and did not have any air conditioner. Despite that, just regular maintenance. Also, this vehicle has not let me down at all; whether I am driving on the highway for hours or cruising around in the city, reliability has been top notch. Now add in snow tired and all whel drive, this car has been so confident inspiring and safe. I have also tuned this car and have taken it on the track a few times and never failed me. My friends joked when I first tuned this car at 20k miles that it wont last and I can tell you, this engine has lasted me. Mind you, I do take care of it. Oil changes, brakes, spark plugs, etc, I have been regular on those. I don't buy cheap products either-used Grimspeed products for aftermarket, a reputable tuner/dealer and mostly take it to Subaru for all other services. I am considering pushing to 200k miles before I change the car. I have one toddler and one newborn on the way, I hope this car will still fit my needs for my family. If it doesnt, most likely keep it and use an SUV as a family car and keep this for my weekend fun/track days

This car is great and I plan on driving it until it wont let me. I am a WRX slappy going all the way back to my 2002. I drove it for all 240k and it still had the original clutch and turbo when I sold it. I'm 53 yrs old and can say WRX's are the best cars i have ever owned. If in a winter area I recommend snow tires. Pro's: Fun, Reliable, 30+MPG Highway; Roomy for a small car; just looks cool; Holds Value. Cons: Steering Wheel Volume button is touchy and can easily skip to the next chapter or song; Air Conditioning seems to struggle when over 95.
